Toronto and Region Conservation advises that the Flood Advisory issued on July 25, 2009 at 6:45 pm remains in effect.

Rivers and streams are currently running at high levels due to the recent rainfall activity, and should be considered dangerous. Please be advised that the Weather Office is forecasting the potential for additional isolated thunderstorms and rain showers continuing through this evening. These potential rainfall amounts may cause flooding of low-lying areas, and also create street flooding and sewer surcharging. Please continue to exercise caution when driving and avoid low-lying roadways and underpasses.

The TRCA will continue to closely monitor weather conditions and will issue an update or cancellation to this Advisory by 10:00 am on Monday, July 27, 2009.

Toronto and Region Conservation advises that water levels in the Don River are receding and as such, the Flood Warning issued on July 25, 2009 at 7:50 pm has been cancelled.

Rivers and streams continue to run at high levels and should be considered dangerous. Please be advised that the Weather Office is predicting additional showers and thunderstorms throughout the day on Sunday. These rainfall amounts may again result in flooding of low-lying areas, and also create street flooding and sewer surcharging. Due to the potential for flooding, a Flood Advisory remains in effect.

The TRCA will continue to closely monitor the weather conditions and will issue an update or cancellation to the Flood Advisory by 10:00 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2009. Toronto and Region Conservation advises that this afternoon’s heavy showers have resulted in flooding conditions within the Don River Watershed. The Weather Office is predicting the potential for additional showers and thunderstorm activity to continue into this evening and tomorrow which may exacerbate current flood conditions.

The TRCA will continue to closely monitor this weather system and will issue an update or cancellation to this Flood Warning by 12:00 AM on Sunday July 26, 2009.

Toronto and Region Conservation advises that the Weather Office is forecasting the potential for thunderstorms and rain showers for the Greater Toronto Area. The downtown Toronto has already recorded 37 mm of rain over two hours. There is a potential of additional rainfall amounts for tonight and tomorrow.

The rivers and streams are already running at high levels due to the precipitation that fell over the past two days, and should be considered dangerous. A high potential for flooding of low-lying areas exists. Also, the forecasted rainfall amounts may create street flooding and sewer surcharging. Please exercise caution when driving and avoid low-lying roadways and underpasses.

Toronto and Region Conservation advises that the Weather Office is forecasting the potential for thunderstorms, as well as 10 to 15mm of rain showers, for the Greater Toronto Area. Rain has already begun this afternoon and will continue into this evening. Periods of rainfall are expected to last until Sunday.

The Greater Toronto Area has already received approximately 30 mm of rainfall over the past two days. The forecasted precipitation amounts may result in higher flows and water levels in all our ponds, rivers and streams, creating dangerous conditions.

Please exercise caution around all bodies of water and alert any children under your care of these dangers.

Between 20 and 30 mm is forecasted to fall overnight with the potential for thunderstorm activity. Additional rainfall, with forecast amounts between 30 to 50 mm, is expected throughout the day on Thursday.

Toronto and Region Conservation advises that Environment Canada is forecasting significant rainfall amounts throughout the day today and into the evening. Rain is expected to be heavy at times during the day. The Greater Toronto Area has already received approximately 5mm of rain. Another 15mm-20mm is expected during the day and 5-10mm overnight tonight.

This rainfall will result in higher flows and water levels in all our rivers and streams for the next few days. All rivers and streams should be considered dangerous.

Please alert any children under your care of these dangers and supervise their activities.
